The man of many talents, Kawhi Leonard has painted his New Balance OMN1S in a “Baited” theme that honors his love for fishing.

Kawhi Leonard is a gift that keeps on giving. While the star NBA player doesn’t contain the most bubbly or outlandish personality, fans really don’t know too much of what he’s about. Like who would have ever dreamed that Kawhi would love fishing, even though it makes a lot of sense, I’m pretty sure no one looked at Leonard and said ahh, yes a fisherman. But that’s what makes him unique and interesting and what makes getting new colorways of his shoe even that much more special.

Other players that have signature shoes are fully accessible when it comes to likes and interests. We know their favorite tv shows, brands, political preference, whether they think the earth is flat or round, (hey Kyrie) but their personalities are all worn on their sleeves for all of their fans to enjoy. Kawhi, on the other hand, doesn’t talk too much about what he likes to do on an off-day, and that’s exactly what New Balance has tapped into. Every shoe unfolds a layer of his personality and gives fans just a little taste of who Kawhi is which in return has worked out great for the two.

This edition comes dressed in a fishing theme dubbed, “Baited”. While the upper is kept black, a white scale fish design is featured across the toe, midfoot and heel. Adding a pop of color and shouting out LA fishing spots, pink and teal are accented all throughout on the tongue branded tab, midfoot strap and embroidered “N” on the ankles. A tri-colored midsole of black, white and yellow and a translucent rubber outsole completes the design. Overall, the colorway is actually pretty nice and will definitely look great on the hardwood. We also got a bit more information on Kawhi so next time you’re at a fishing spot in LA and hear a distinct laugh, keep your eyes out, you may be able to see Kawhi in his natural habitat.
