New Balance has had quite a year so far in 2020, celebrating some of their most beloved silhouettes with partners like Levi’s, mita, and Todd Snyder. This week’s project is entirely in house, decorating classic runners with colors inspired by sunrises in the big city.

Celebrating two of their most beloved running sneakers, the 670 and 1500, New Balance introduced the “City Sunrise” pack this week, a two-part capsule inspired by the colors of the morning sunrise set behind a cityscape. Featuring premium materials and the utmost attention to detail, both pairs begin with grey mesh base layers followed by matching grey mudguards made from pigskin suede. The 1500 continues with grey color blocking through the quarter panels, before transitioning to a rich purple heel counter and a teal blue ankle collar. The 670 follows suit similarly, making use of large purple panels for the midfoot, and even adding a flash of peachy-orange to the suede heel counter.
