New Balance has announced a special project featuring their Made in UK 991v2 this week, taking the silhouette from Flimby to the world through a series of regional exclusive releases. Each pair features a vibrant main color, releasing through select markets in a staggered release schedule that kicks off this week.
New Balance introduced their updated version of the 991 last year, making some slight adjustments to the iconic original silhouette for a new look. So far, the model has been produced exclusively through their Made in UK manufacturing facilities in Flimby, England, and has been a part of several collaborations as a part of its rollout in 2023. Now, the Boston brand is taking the shoe worldwide through a City Pack of regionally exclusive releases in five different colorways.
Each pair in the 991v2 City Pack features matching base materials and colors. The shoe’s mesh base comes in black, with dark grey leather mid layers separating its dark base from the colorful outer panels. Added in suede, the five colors are exclusive to different countries around the world. First on the schedule is the bright pink shade, releasing in Japan, followed by the lush blue color for the United States next week. The yellow pair will be available through Australian retailers in early September, while China’s red pair and Europe’s green style have yet to be given set release dates.
