New Balance’s 991 is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, leading the Boston brand to release a limited-edition anniversary colorway earlier this year. Now, New Balance has rehashed the shoe’s original Made in UK “Warm Grey” look, coming soon.

The New Balance 991 turns twenty years old in 2021, a celebratory occasion for the Boston brand and the entire 990X family of footwear. Originally introduced in 2001 as the evolutionary next step for the beloved suite of running shoes, the 991 quickly became a default choice for runners around the world, as well as New Balance itself. Now, the 991 is heralded as a piece of sneaker history, still produced and worn today as one of the most stylish lifestyle models on the market. Celebrating the shoe’s anniversary this year, New Balance kicked things off with a special-edition colorway of the original grey color scheme, adding blue accents for a more eye-catching look. Now, it appears New Balance is following up with the *actual* original “Warm Grey” color scheme, on the current iteration of the 991 MADE. Featuring a neutral grey mesh base layer, charcoal mid layers, and warm grey suede overlays, this pair is manufactured in Flimby, United Kingdom.
