The New Balance 990v6 was initially teased last Fall, and we have anxiously been awaiting the arrival of the fresh new silhouette 40 years in the making. Now, we have an early look at the v6’s classic Navy Blue look, coming soon.

The New Balance 990 originally debuted in 1982, and earned praise as one of the best running shoes on the market at the time. Since then, the 990 family has grown significantly, adding numerous new styles to the numeric franchise, as well as evolving the original through five different versions in the years since. Now, the Boston-based footwear brand is gearing up to celebrate forty years of the silhouette by introducing its latest iteration, the 990v6. The new addition to the family is somewhat of a departure from the norm, this time focusing on more organic, natural lines for the layered upper. This week, the New Balance 990v6 surfaced in detailed images of its Navy Blue color scheme, decking out the shoe in one of NB’s classic grey-accented styles. This pair also gives us a good look at the newly sculpted midsole, which shows off sleek lines and FuelCell cushioning.
