The New Balance 990v4 is one of the latest silhouettes to join the Made in USA project under the direction of Teddy Santis, making its debut as a part of the Grey Day collection in May. Now, we have an early look at a plain navy blue pair, coming soon.
The fourth entry in New Balance’s famed 990 series first arrived on shelves in 2016, jusr four years after the v3 made its debut in 2012, and a whopping thirty-four years after the franchise’s original launch. The 990v4 was one of the first to fully embrace the line’s newfound secondary purpose as a lifestyle model, offering a wide range of colors and collaborations during its initial year. The v4 has remained a staple of the brand’s catalogue in years since, and just this season returned to the Made in USA program, now under the direction of Teddy Santis. This week, we got our first look at a rehashed version of the Navy blue color scheme, giving the shoe a brighter shade of blue throughout its upper, while retaining accents of grey and metallic silver.
