Last year, New Balance released a new version of the 2002R, adding removable pouches to cover the silhouette’s laces. Now, another pair has emerged, this time in ‘Nightwatch Green’, coming soon.
New Balance’s 2002R has remained one of our favorite shoes on the market over the last few years. From its initial high-profile collaborations to the excellent in-line colorways available, the 2002 can do it all. Last year, New Balance switched things up just a little bit, releasing a new version of the shoe with zippered stash pockets covering the laces. It’s been a while since we saw this iteration of the 2002 model, and now, New Balance has a fresh ‘Nightwatch Green’ colorway lined up for 2023. This pair features a white spacer mesh base layer adding off-white shades of synthetic leathers to the midfoot and mudguards of the shoe. Light grey suede appears on the heels, while the namesake green shade adds accents to the inner lining, ‘N’ logos, and the removable pocket.

New Balance’s latest utilitarian version of their popular 2002R has not been announced for release, though we expect to see them land sometime early in 2023. Featuring removable pouches, the ‘Nightwatch Green’ edition will be available from the brand’s website as well as select retailers for $140.
