New Balance’s offerings from their Made product lines change frequently, but their retro 1500 silhouette has remained a staple of the Made in UK program. This week, the Boston brand is releasing a new pair of the model in white, with “Cilantro” green accents.
The New Balance 1500 originally released in 1989, intended as a multi-sport shoe with a focus on basketball and tennis. The model also serves as a suitable distance running shoe, and was designed by the legendary Steven Smith with input from MIT researchers for peak performance. This year, the model has turned thirty-five years old, releasing in a wide range of new colors and special-edition styles for the occasion.
New Balance’s latest offering of the 1500 from their Made in UK program is set to arrive later this week. This pair features an upper clad in plain white leather with some pale grey suede accents, and a pre-aged yellowed midsole with matching laces. The final piece is a “Cilantro” green shade, which makes up the toe box underlays and New Balance branding to complete the look.
