The JoeFreshGoods x New Balance 550 “Conversations Amongst Us” Releases Tomorrow

Early this year, JoeFreshGoods shared details regarding a campaign with New Balance, ‘Conversations Amongst Us’, a series meant to highlight the experiences of Black Americans. This week, JFG showed off the 550 from the project, coming soon.

New Balance and JoeFreshGoods already have a new project lined up for us, with JFG serving as the creative director for the endeavor. Dubbed ‘Conversations Amongst Us’, the collaboration sees the Fat Tiger Workshop founder working alongside Black Soles, an all-Black collective of New Balance associates, telling stories based in the Black American experience. Having announced the project by unveiling a clean 2002R colorway from the series, JFG returned this week to give us an early look at the 550 ‘Conversations’. Mirroring the colors of the 2002, the new 550 begins with off-white base layers of suede for the upper, mixing in faded yellow tones to achieve the ‘vintage’ look, which is matched by the thick midsole unit.

The next release in JoeFreshGoods’ ‘Conversations Among Us’ New Balance series, the 550, has not yet been announced for release, though we are expecting them to drop sometime in Spring 2022. Dressed in shades of off-white and tinted with yellow for an aged appearance, this premium pair will likely be available from New Balance & select retailers with a price tag of at least $140.
