With the social media storm surrounding Area 51 still lingering, Las Vegas’ premiere boutique, Feature, has unveiled their latest project with longtime collaborator Saucony. Check out the Shadow 5000 “Dreamland”, dropping later this week.

Saucony’s Shadow 5000 made its debut back in 1989, ahead of its time thanks to the futuristic 90s look. Since then, the running silhouette has made its name as a lifestyle silhouette, perfectly encapsulating a time in sneaker design that many consider to be its peak. As a part of its massive popularity as a casual shoe, the Shadow 5000 is often the canvas for Saucony collaborations, like this week’s project with Feature.

Feature’s inspiration for their latest project wioth Saucony comes from a local landmark: Area 51. Their take on the Shadow 5000 rebuilds the upper from the ground up, using a healtjhy mix of luxurious materials starting with a tumbled leather base, accented by suede and perforated nubuck overlays. The tongues feature dual-branded biohazard logos, a theme that is repeated on the rear pull tabs. Glow in the dark detailing can be found on the famous Saucony dots, outsole, and heel elements, while a heatmap insole and custom packaging complete this special release.
