Last month, Converse tapped A-COLD-WALL* to help launch the Sponge Crater, a wild new hybrid silhouette that combines a Flyknit bootie and foam exterior. Now, the slip-on sneaker is set to release in simple black & white styles this month.

Converse has released some wild new silhouettes in recent weeks, marking a vast departure from their classic styles and venturing into new, tech-minded territory. Starting with the Aeon Active CX, they moved onto the Sponge Crater, a unique hybrid style that plays into the molded foam hype that is currently sweeping the sneaker world (interestingly, both shoes debuted in collaboration with Samuel Ross’ A-COLD-WALL*). Now, the Sponge Crater is gearing up release in new in-line colorways, starting off with simple black & white tonal iterations. As expected, both pairs are cast entirely in one color, with the bumpy foam exterior matching the Flyknit interior piece in your choice of all-black or all-white.

Converse’s first in-line colorways of the recent Sponge Crater silhouette have been listed for release overseas on July 10th, 2022, though there is no set US release date yet. Dressed in tonal black or white, pairs will be available directly from Converse for $110.
