Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s first signature shoe with Converse is approaching the one-year mark, and still going strong. This week, release details for their next Premium color, “Steel”, have been announced, coming soon.
The introduction of the Converse Shai 001 was a monumental moment for the brand when it launched last year. The new model is the first player signature from Converse in the modern age, showing a recommitment to performance offerings and a return to their original stage; the NBA court. After a series of successful standard offerings, largely in colors representing the members of his family, SGA and Converse debuted their Premium format for the player model earlier this year. The original release dressed the performance shoe in “Truffle” brown suede, followed by a Ink blue leather style. The next release in the Premium format has been announced this week, sticking with the luxe leather build, but adding a metallic sheen finish to the silhouette. The look is called “Steel”, and even adds a metallic silver finish to elements of the shoe’s midsole.

The next installment in SGA’s Converse Shai 001 Premium line has been scheduled to releas next month, on June 11th, 2026. The latest edition brings a metallic silver “Steel” finish to the 001’s smooth upper. Pairs will be available through Converse, Nike’s SNKRS app, and select retailers for $150.
