The adidas Energy Boost is the brand’s original Boost runner. After a five-year anniversary this year, the sleek silhouette is finally back on the Consortium circuit with a new “Shiatsu” iteration coming from Concepts later this month.
adidas Consortium releases are always sneakers to pay attention to, however, when Concepts gets involved, magic is made. The last time these two teamed up was during the brand’s Consortium Series in 2016, which traveled the world through exclusive Three Stripe releases. This time around, CNCPTS creative director Deon Point and his team have come up with one of the most intriguing collaborative projects of this year. With every release, Deon works hard to find a theme relates not only to the store’s brand, but their overall energy as well. For their new adidas Consortium Energy Boost, the theme pays homage to upscale hotel spas and pieces of Asian culture like Japanese Shiatsu Massage and Jadestone.
The Concepts x adidas Energy Boost “Shiatsu” is one of the most enticing Consortium releases so far this year. The shoe begins with a white Primeknit upper for a soft and flexible fit, paired with Jade-colored terrycloth lining for a luxurious feel. The outer support cage made from TPU comes in a translucent plastic, accented by three Jade stripes on the outside. Each shoe features a special Consortium tag on the tongue, as well as on the patterned insoles. Finally, this limited edition Energy Boost is finished off by marbled Jade outsoles and three different sets of laces. In their editorial, Concepts also shared images of a wide range of apparel and accessories made to match sneakers, as well as a pair of adidas Adilettes. Currently, there is no word on if this merchandise will be available to the public.

The Concepts x adidas Consortium Energy Boost “Shiatsu” is scheduled to release from the New England retailer on July 21st, 2018. The high-end iteration will retail for a cool $200, and so far has not been announced for a wider release.
