The FIFA World Cup kicks off in June, and sneaker brands are lining up plenty of special releases for the occasion. This week, we have an official look at CLOT’s contribution with adidas, a special pair of the Mundial trainer.
Soccer (or football) is a huge part of the sneaker world, particularly in the last few years as slim, retro trainers have come back into fashion. adidas and Nike have both leaned into this, bringing back some of their iconic field-ready boots in lifestyle forms for Summer seasonal collections. With the World Cup happening this year, football-themed releases have hit a fever pitch, with both brands tapping their large stables of collaborators to bring something new and exciting to the table. This week, we have an early look at CLOT’s contribution to the World Cup craze with adidas, taking on the iconic Mundial boot and giving it their own unique spin. The CLOT version replaces the standard rubber midsole with a woven espadrille sole from some of their past releases, adding more woven elements for the Three Stripes and heel counters. The toe box’s usual stitch pattern has been replaced with the CLOT logo repeated three times, while folded tongues bear CLOT MUNDIAL branding.
