The 1890A is New Balance’s weird new lifestyle shoe for 2026. The model was first seen in June 2025, when senior marketing manager Lee Stuart teased it on Instagram around Paris Fashion Week. News regarding the funky new design remained quiet for months, until it popped up again at Paris Fashion Week in January 2026. This time, however, the shoe was formally unveiled as a new release for this year, showcased in a set of three simple color schemes that borrowed styling from both classic NB colors and moccasin designs. CdG Homme debuted its own take on the moccasin/tech runner hybrid during the same Paris Fashion Week. Featuring two colorways, CdG has stepped away from their usual tonal white & black styles for this release.
