Carpet Company gave us one of the best Dunk releases back in 2021. They followed up with a series of Vans drops in ’24 & ’25, and now, they’ve teamed up with Salomon to celebrate their beloved tiny van with the “Habibi Express” XT-Whisper Void.
Carpet Company was founded in 2016 by two brothers, Ayman and Osama Abdeldayem. The streetwear and skateboarding brand was built after the two left their careers in engineering, and went a in on their passions. Ayman and Osama are both first-generation Egyptian-Americans, and blend their cultural heritage into their seasonal collections, often through graphics and the use of Arabic writings on their products. In 2021, the brand found a new level of fame thanks to their Nike SB Dunk collaboration, following up in 2024 & 2025 with more footwear work, this time partnering with Vans.
In April of this year, Carpet Company opened their first dedicated retail store in their home of Baltimore, Maryland. Still in its early days, the brand is celebrating with another special sneaker release this week from Salomon. The project celebrates both the store and the beloved microbus associated with CC, with its unique red coloring and devil horns above the cab. The project features the XT-Whisper Void runner as its canvas, dousing the upper in a metallic red sheet, set against a black backdrop. Accents in blue and green add a little more detail to the color palette, with the CC logo stamped on the outer toes. The project is extremely limited, with just 1,720 pairs in existence. This number is a tribute to the address where the van is parked every night.

Carpet Company’s new sneaker homage to their beloved horned minivan is scheduled to release this week. The drop will start with an in-store release at their Baltimore location on May 16th, followed by an online drop on the 17th. Then, next week, Salomon will release limited stock of this special pair via their online channels. The bold red pair of the XT-Whisper Void is limited to just 1,720 pairs worldwide, so be prepared if you’re going to try and nab a pair. Pricing info is currently unavailable.
