Reebok has been a go-to brand for other intellectual property to collaborate with and bring their products and characters to life. This week, Barbie announced a new project with the British footwear brand, releasing three sneaker styles with a Barbie theme later this month.
Reebok has been churning out IP-based collaborations in recent years, teaming up with dozens of different brands to celebrate the most iconic toys and characters of our childhoods. The Mattel company has been one of their main team-ups, using their wide range of toy families to create new styles of their classic silhouettes based on the lines. This week, Barbie has announced a sneaker project, coming soon.
The team-up between Barbie and Reebok is not an unexpected project from the two brands. Barbie is still riding the high of last Summer’s hit movie, and sneaker-tie-in releases are still immensely popular. For this debut project, the two have three silhouettes on the way, the BB 4000 II, Club C Extra, and FloatZig 1, all of which are connected by the iconic hot pink Barbie shade.
