Reebok’s “International Foods” series announced three new releases this week, including a project with AsphaltGold. Using the Classic Nylon as their canvas, the two are paying homage to pizza with this special edition release.
Reebok’s global tour of cuisine continues this month with another entry in the ongoing “International Foods” series of special edition footwear collaborations. Announced alongside releases with German stores 43Einhalb and Overkill, AsphaltGold’s release focuses on one type of food that is internationally renowned: pizza. Despite the Italian delicacies’ current situation as somewhat of an internet meme, the project is very serious and takes cues from classic stereotypes of pizza restaurants, right down to the special edition calzone box.
The AsphaltGold x Reebok Classic Nylon begins with a white mesh upper, overlaid with light brown suede on the toe cap, quarter panels, and heel counter. The laces come in with red and green striping, as well as dual-branded lace locks at the bottom. The Reebok logo on the tongues has been reworked to resemble a pizza, with red and green accents completing the look.

The AsphaltGold x Reebok Classic Nylon has been scheduled to release next week, on July 27th, 2019. The pizza-themed sneaker will likely retail somewhere in the $120 range and will be available from both Reebok and select retailers.
