adidas’ yearly assortment of Lunar New Year-themed footwear is back for 2021, celebrating the Spring Festival with a small lineup of colorful sneakers including two pairs of Ultraboost, Superstars, soccer boots, and a small apparel collection. This year, the new Niteball silhouette is joining the party, taking on a tricolor blocking to celebrate the new year. This look begins with a black neoprene base layer for the Niteball, creating a form-fitting inner layer to conform to your foot. Next, white leather overlays add structure to the shoe, as well as providing a clean base for the layers of color on top, which come in shades of orange, red, and purple. The Niteball’s tongue branding has been replaced with a more intricate adidas badge, while the heel tabs also include graphic nods to the Lunar New Year festival.

adidas’ special-edition colorway of the Niteball silhouette for Lunar New Year celebrations has already released overseas in Japan, though we are still waiting for a stateside drop in the coming weeks. This colorful version of the Originals Niteball retains the usual price tag of $120 and will be available from both adidas and select retailers.
