The adidas NMD franchise has taken on plenty of new looks and colorways since it’s 2015 release. Now, adidas is taking a slightly newer approach to the standard R1, retaining most of the same features but adding some bold new branding.

The adidas NMD lineup is ever expanding, though this year they’ve spent a significant amount of time with the OG silhouette, the R1. Now a beloved lifestyle shoe in the sneaker scene, the NMD first launched in 2015 as a modern runner inspired by three of their archive models, and utilizing the best materials adidas has to offer. This week, global low-budget fashion brand Urban Outfitters got the chance to debut a sharp new colorway, potentially an exclusive for their stores. The new look paints the soft knit upper in a deep navy tone, down to the stripes, lacing system, and rubber heel counter. Flashes of color are present on the shoes, EVA midsole pods, with a bright teal taking over the heel pair and orange splashed across the toe and the medial sides.
