The adidas NMD franchise has seen it’s fair share of cool new colorways over the years. This month, the Three Stripes is shaking it up a bit with a new color scheme that takes inspiration from the NMD’s relative, the legendary “Nice Kicks” colorway.

The adidas NMD lineup is ever expanding, though this year they’ve spent a significant amount of time with the OG silhouette, the R1. Now a beloved lifestyle shoe in the sneaker scene, the NMD first launched in 2015 as a modern runner inspired by three of their archive models, and utilizing the best materials adidas has to offer. As per their usual schedule, adidas is set to release a string of new NMD_R1 colorways for the new season, including this bold new “Marbled” look. The all-black NMD adds touches of red to the collar stitching and a single stripes for a minimal look. However, this NMD_R1’s defining feature is its outsole, which takes on a red and black marbled look, which first appeared on the recent AKOG Ultra Boost.
