BAPE is expanding their relationship with adidas to extend beyond street style this month. The two are cooking up BAPE-branded pairs of the EVO SL running shoe, which has surfaced in a second colorway today.
BAPE’s history with adidas dates back to their early 2000s, with their 2003 “Super Ape Star” project. The release was one of the first crossovers between Japanese streetwear and sneaker culture, and became a defining sneaker of the era. In the twenty-three years since then, BAPE and adidas have remained regular partners, often teaming up for more riffs on adidas classics like the Superstar, Stan Smith, and Samba. This Summer, the two are exploring performance running for the first time.
adidas’ EVO SL runner has become incredibly popular in a shockingly short amount of time. The model has been out for a few months now, and their collaborators have flocked to the simply-looking model to issue special-edition pairs. Hartcopy, Pharrell, Whitaker Group, and SNS have all issued pairs of the model, and now BAPE is next in line to contribute. Their version of the EVO SL first surfaced a few months ago, showing off an asymmetrical colorway in white with blue and pink accents. Today, a second colorway has joined the release. This pair features the same mismatched look, with one shoe in royal blue and the other in a dark green shade. BAPE and Three Stripes branding are applied in black, while red laces, linings, and outsoles complete the look.
BAPE X ADIDAS EVO SL “BLUE/GREEN” RELEASE INFORMATION
BAPE’s second colorway of the adidas EVO SL is expected to release alongside the pink & blue style later this month, on June 27th, 2026. The additional new look takes a much louder approach than its counterpart, casting one shoe in royal blue and the other in lush green, both paired with red accents and black branding. Pairs will be available from both partners as well as select retailers for $200.
