UPDATE 8/14/25: Pharrell’s new label Black Yacht Rock, has launched today with a collection of apparel and accessories, and the first public release of the adidas Adistar Jellyfish. Their website is now accepting raffle entries, though it is unclear when the entry period will end. Pairs are stated to be in stock and will ship within 5-7 business days.
Original story, January 2025: Pharrell Williams, despite being the Louis Vuitton menswear director, is still hard at work crafting new shoes with adidas. This week, the artist and designer was spotted wearing a brand new silhouette, the Jellyfish, coming later this year.
The footwear offerings from Pharrell Williams and adidas have always made waves in the sneaker world. The first big splash came in 2016 with the initial release of the Hu NMD, which reimagined the NMD_R1 into a whole new model. Since then, the two have been creating off-kilter versions of adidas classics, as well as introducing some new models along the way.
This week, Pharrell was in Paris for Fashion Week to show off his latest menswear work for Louis Vuitton, and sported a brand new adidas model during the show. In images from Complex, we have an early look at the new Jellyfish model, coming this year. The new silhouette is a chunky runner style, akin to some of the sneakers we saw from Balenciaga in the late ’10s. The upper features a thin, breathable mesh base with a hefty dose of molded plastic overlays, including glossy Three Stripes adornments. The midsole has plenty of different cutouts and shapes, and lends a shape similar to the Response CL to the model.
