Vans’ penchant for collaborating with a massive assortment of partners has brought us some enticing new releases in 2020, but our favorite just dropped today. Teaming up with WACKO MARIA, this Vans Authentic gets a makeover inspired by Japanese folklore tales.

The Vans Authentic has been the canvas to hundreds, if not thousands of exciting and unique projects and stories in their near 50-year history. From the standard, color-based blocking to the elevated takes by the brand’s Vault division, and all the way to projects with brands and partners on nearly every continent, the Vans Authentic is a tried and true classic. This week, the Authentic is taking a trip to Japan, teaming up with WACKO MARIA Guilty Parties for a limited-edition release. Pulling from their own historical and cultural inspirations, the WACKO x Vans Authentic is covered in a set of Japanese Folklore imagery. Flames, ancient spirits, monsters, bondage, and more are represented across the Authentic’s canvas upper in colorful detail.
