Vivienne Westwood continues her tour of the sneaker world this month, following up on projects with Asics released over the Summer. This time around, the London-based design studio is teaming up with Vans on a collection of six classic silhouettes.

Vivienne Westwood is practically a household name in the fashion world, after rising to prominence from her Kings Road shop in London in the 1970s. As the name grew in popularity, Westwood transitioned to traditional London Saville Row tailoring, taking inspiration from 17th and 18th-century British fabrics. Now, Vivienne Westwood is one of the last independent fashion companies in the world.

Vivienne Westwood’s take on the Vans archives includes a total of six footwear options, beginning with fan-favorites like the Slip-On, Era, and Authentic, Sk8-Hi (standard and Platform variations), the Old Skool, and finally, the reintroduction of the loafer-style Style #53. Each shoe takes on its own unique look, from graphic prints on the Slip, Era, and Old Skool, while the Sk8-Hi models feature Vivienne Westwood branding. The Style 53 is very clearly the oddball of the bunch, dressed entirely in smooth black suede and featuring the Westwood logo made from enamel on the tongue.

The new project from Vivienne Westwood and Vans has been scheduled to release later this month, on September 20th, 2019. The collection, including a total of six silhouettes, will likely feature a range of prices, estimated somewhere in the $80-$140 range, and launching from a variety of Vans retailers.
