Todd Snyder and New Balance are back this season with another entry in their ongoing series of premium 997 releases. This week, the classic runner released in a subtle grey color scheme inspired by the dual “work/play” lifestyle of a tennis star in the ’70s.

Todd Snyder’s projects with New Balance always have a special way of catching our eye. Whether it is through a bright and unmissable color scheme, like the “Hudson” 997, or simply a clean colorway, like the “Ale” 990v3, they knock it out of the park every time. This week, the two reunited for their first release of 2020, featuring, as you might’ve guessed, the 997. Inspired the lifestyle of a tennis star in the 1970s, the clean white and grey build is built to perform on the court while keeping you stylish and comfortable under the disco ball. Construction features high-quality materials like white patent leather and white snakeskin-embossed leather, while soft pigskin suede acts as the reinforcing overlays. To give the shoe its “Chalk Stripe” name, a single dash of tan appears on the rubber heel reinforcement.
