New Balance may be leaning into the collegiate spectrum of color schemes for some upcoming releases, if the latest 990v3 is any indication. Dressed in the Oregon Ducks’ signature green and gold, this latest 990v3 is expected to drop in December.

The New Balance 990v3 is starting to receive a lot of love from the brand this year, with a number of special collaborations and colorways set to hit shelves in the coming weeks. So, when a seemingly special-edition new color scheme of the classic runner popped up on some retail sites for pre-order this week, we took notice. While there doesn’t appear to be any related product story yet, it also appears that New Balance isn’t ready to unveil this new model, as the ship date for preorders was listed as December 2021. However, the look bears a striking resemblance to shoes made for the University of Oregon Ducks, beginning with a black mesh and suede upper before adding overlays in green suede and some choice golden accents along the ‘N’ logos. This pair is a Made in USA edition, so we know that it received New Balance’s utmost attention to detail, but other than that, they remain a mystery for the time being.
