Taka Hayashi’s tenure with the Vault by Vans team continues to introduce spectacular new sneakers into the brand’s arsenal. This week, the two are heading to the outdoors to show off the new AMZN TRL V3 LX.

Vault by Vans relationship with Taka Hayashi continues to grow on a yearly basis, as the Japanese designer continues to lead the Vault’s creative team. In recent years, the two have begun to sidestep their skateboarding roots, instead crafting footwear for all kinds of outdoor uses, as well as innovating on standard lifestyle product along the way. This week, the two have unveiled their latest project, reaching into the Vans archives to pull out the Style #40 Buffalo boot, transforming the vintage silhouette into the new AMZN TRL V3 hiking shoe. Inspired by the Amazon rain forest and the way the namesake river switches back and forth between the trees, the shoe echoes these choices through its unique paneling and vintage hardware, sourced from old-school hiking shoes and bags. The AMZN TRL V3 debuted in two colorways, one in sandy shades of brown, and the other mixing green, brown, and purple for a jungle-inspired look.
