New Balance and womenswear brand STAUD have reunited for their latest and final collaboration, taking inspiration from Southern California surf culture. Among the collection are two colors of the XC-72, releasing later this week.

Back in 2020, New Balance teamed up with womenswear brand STAUD for a number of projects, releasing high-profile silhouettes like the 997 and 327 alongside an array of apparel. Two years and several collaborations later, they have announced their final collection, which pulls inspiration from the Southern California surf culture of the 1980s and early ’90s. Among the project are two colorways of the recent XC-72 silhouette, cast in colorways to suit the style of the era. First up, the colorful option begins with a baby blue nylon base layer, adding overlays in faded purple, yellow, and red, with a deep navy ‘N’ logo on the lateral sides. The second pair is much simpler, using the brand’s now signature ‘Moonbeam’ tone to craft the shoe in a tonal white look, with black laces rounding out the design.
