ShoePalace and New Balance are back at it, with another exclusive release dropping via the California-based retailer next week. This time around, the two are paying homage to the world’s deadliest predator, the great white shark, with two colorways of the 997s.
ShoePalace’s limited-edition releases have been ramping up over the past few years, dropping more frequently and cramming more and more details into each new project. This week, the California-based retailer unveiled its latest work with New Balance, celebrating the deadliest apex predator, the great white shark, as well as the Bay Area’s own San Jose Sharks with two colorways of the 997s model. While both pairs have their own unique construction, each features the same color palette of black, white teal blue, and hints of orange, though the placement of each varies from the version with the black midsole, which also features more of its overlays in black, or the pair with white midsoles, which is dominated by teal overlays. Both pairs feature hints of orange embedded in the midsole as well as in the form of swappable laces. Custom sock liners provide extra comfort, as well as a reworked ShoePalace logo resembling a shark.

The latest project from New Balance and ShoePalace, featuring two pairs of the great white shark-inspired 997s, has been scheduled to release next week, on November 5th, 2020. Available in light or dark color schemes, the “Great White” pack will be available exclusively via ShoePalace, likely with an elevated retail price of $140 or more.
