Ronnie Fieg’s Asics Gel Fieg is making a reappearance soon. Earlier today, the Kith founder and designer took to Instagram to share a first look at the “Super Blue” Asics Gel Fieg 3.1 first seen during his Kith Air fashion show.
Ronnie Fieg is a magician with his Asics projects, turning forgotten or overlooked heat into undeniable gold. That hot streak is set to continue soon, as the Kith founder recently previewed a new colorway of his Gel Fieg 3.1. After his extended hiatus from working on projects with Asics, Ronnie has come back in full force, as evidenced by the popularity of the “Oasis” Gel Kayano 5 from earlier this Summer. Now, he’s back to work on a silhouette he helped design, the Gel Fieg 3.1. An advanced version of the Gel-Lyte III, the update includes a revamped midsole that is packed with Asics’ legendary Gel technology and visible from all angles. For his latest “Super Blue” colorway, the shoes are decked out in a deep indigo tone, which covers the smooth base layer as well as the hairy suede overlays.
As of this writing, Ronnie has not yet announced a release date for his upcoming Asics Gel Fieg 3.1 “Super Blue”. However, there is definitely a pattern to see in Ronnie Fieg’s method of teasing new product, so we can reasonably expect his latest project with Asics to release sometime during the Fall season.
