New Balance has been pumping out exciting new projects all year, though its been pretty hard to grab them all. This week, the Boston brand is debuting another new exclusive project with Randomevent, releasing exclusively in China.
Randomevent’s take on the New Balance 580 is inspired by the concept of “unchained nirvana”, as evidenced by the capsules title, Rebirth. These ideas are represented in numerous ways throughout the shoe, with the most predominant being the bright yellow suede upper. In combination with the cracked white leather tongue and heel counter, the yellow suede represents a chick being born from an egg, or simply a color often associated with happiness on its own. The tongue branding is shown in a mirror image on the left shoe, symbolizing duality, which is also represented on the co-branded insoles.

New Balance’s new hairy suede iteration of the 580 by Randomevent is scheduled to release tomorrow, September 27th, exclusively in China from both partners. There is currently no word on a wider release, though we hope to see these land stateside sometime soon.
