Kendrick Lamar is gearing up for a new album release next month, and a debut collaboration with Converse to boot. Debuted by Dave Free, the pgLang x Converse Chuck Taylor & Pro Leather are coming soon.

In 2020, Kendrick Lamar announced the formation of pgLang, a service for creators founded by the Grammy-winning rapper and his partner Dave Free. Functioning as a platform for artists of all kinds, the ‘multi-lingual’ organization is geared towards helping creators tell their stories, whether it be through music, film, television, books, podcasts, and more. So far, pgLang has taken responsibility for video creation for Baby Keem, the rising star rapper who appears heavily tied to the brand. Now, one half of the founding team, Dave Free, has given us an early look at an upcoming pgLang project with Converse, applying their unique style to the Chuck Taylor All-Star as well as the Pro Leather Ox. The former builds on the classic all-white colorway of the classic Chuck, adding metal D-ring eyelets as an homage to work boots, and colorless pgLang x Converse branding on the medial sides. The latter is similarly simple, sporting a near-tonal off-white color, adding the same metal eyelets and a pgLang logo on the lateral heels.
