New Balance’s Made in USA 992 Gets the “Mushroom” Treatment

New Balance’s 992 has returned to their Made in USA lineup this season, after the model was holstered for the last few years. This week, a smooth “Mushroom” look from the Teddy Santis-led division has surfaced, coming soon.

New Balance is returning several classic models to their Made in USA lime this year, after taking a few years off form both the 997 and the 992. The latter was retired back in early 2022 after an exciting string of releases, but is slowly starting to pop up in a number of new styles for 2025. With the latest JFG collaboration out in the world this week and one from Kith on the way, today we have an early look at a new in-line style coming soon.

The first standard-issue style of the New Balance 992 joins several other Made in USA releases with a “Mushroom” colorway. Though we only have one photo of the new pair at the moment, this appears to be lighter and use more grey than brown compared to its companions. Light grey shades make up the mesh base and suede outer layer, while dark brown mid layers and tan accents complete the look.

Now, a range of new styles have surfaced for the upcoming months.

The latest pair of the TL 2.5 to cross our timelines is giving some serious Tiffany vibes, thanks to the “Dusty Cactus” shade of teal used. The look starts off with a wolf grey mesh for the upper, adding taped accents in the Cool Grey tone for the midsection. New Balance’s 1906L Gets a “Red Croc” Look for 2025

In 2024, New Balance introduced a remarkably divisive new silhouette, the 1906L. Their retro running shoe-turned-loafer is coming back with new colors for 2025, including a red crocodile leather style with a glossy finish.

New Balance has been playing with different formats for their 1906 runner regularly over the last few years. The silhouette now has variations subtitled R, D, A, and M, and last year, the Boston brand introduced the L version. This pair removed the standard lacing system from the shoe and constructed the upper in the style of a loafer, bridging the gap between sneakers and formal wear in a unique way. Now, the 1906L is back with some eye-catching new styles for 2025.

The 1906L from New Balance was one of the most divisive shoes of last year, and will continue to turn heads in 2025 with some of its new releases. This week, we have an early look at a new “Red Croc” pair slated to arrive sometime this Summer. This pair features an upper cast in a glossy red crocodile skin leather, a bold statement even for a full-on dress shoe. This is paired with an understated black midsole to emphasize the wild-looking upper.

The New Balance Allerdale Made in UK Releases in 2025

New Balance has held the crown for making the ultimate dad shoes for years now. This week, it appears they are doubling down on it just in case, with the introduction of their Made in UK Allerdale, coming soon.

New Balance’s audience has evolved dramatically over the last few years, as the brand has skyrocketed in popularity among sneakerheads. Their rise to prominence started back in 2020, with several high profile collaborations including work with Aimé Leon Dore and JoeFreshGoods. However, they have maintained their iconic “dad shoe” aesthetic, and are doubling down on it this year with the Allerdale, a new premium ‘walking’ shoe.

New Balance’s new Allerdale model hails from their Made in UK program, and has already started leaking from retailers ahead of its expected Summer release. The new silhouette is a very simple design, similar to their retro T500 tennis shoe, with a heftier midsole underneath. This sole unit hides the impressive FuelCell foam they use in performance products, which will provide maximum comfort for this everyday model. The first pair to release will come in a dark brown color scheme, constructed from pebbled leather for a long-lasting pair of shoes.

NEW BALANCE ALLERDALE MADE IN UK RELEASE INFORMATION

New Balance’s release of the new Allerdale silhouette does not have a release date yet, but is currently expected to launch sometime in Summer 2025. The premium walking shoe from their Made in UK program will likely be available from both NB and select retailers, with a price tag set at $250.

First Official Look at an adidas AE 2 Sample

0

adidas has had a strong year with their first signature shoe for Anthony Edwards, the AE 1. The model has been widely proclaimed as one of the best basketball signatures in years, and their strong line of colors has helped immensely. Now, we have our first look at a sample of the next iteration, the AE 2.

Anthony Edwards has been one of the most dominant up and coming NBA players in his first few years in the league. The young guard is entering his fifth season in the league, and has already racked up multiple playoff appearances as well as All-Star and All-NBA commendations, and participated in the Olympics for Team USA this Summer. On top of that, he has one of the best signature sneakers in the world at the moment, and is looking for another with his upcoming adidas AE 2.

The success of the AE 1 has been a huge bonus for adidas’ basketball offerings over the last year. The signature model has been one of the most well-regarded performance shoes of the past year, and its unique design has brought us a wide range of fun and exciting colorways. Now, after rumors of the AE 2 making its debut later this year, we finally have an early look at what we can expect to see come this Fall. The new version removes the shoe’s all-encompassing outer shell in favor of stripped-down support overlays, while retaining the inner bootie. The general shape is the same, with more options for color blocking.

adidas has yet to officially announce or unveil the next Anthony Edwards signature, the AE 2. However, we will likely see more and more photos of the model as we head into the NBA season in October. The shoe will likely be limited in its first releases before widening in scope, and is expected to maintain a similar price tag around $120 as the initial silhouette.

Stay tuned to JustFreshKicks on TwitterInstagram, and Facebook for more of the latest sneaker news, release dates, and restock alerts.

UPDATE 3/6/25: During their earnings call this morning, adidas teased us with the first official look at the AE2, Anthony Edwards’ second signature sneaker. Though they did not even acknowledge the image shown or the popularity of Edwards’ first model, his logo can clearly be seen on the tongue of the silhouette. The model appears to have changed after the last leaked images, changing the construction and materials of the upper.

UPDATE 10/2/24: New photos of another adidas AE 2 sample have surfaced this week, this time in a colorway which adds more black to the shoe’s color scheme.

London’s END. Clothing has been one of the most prolific collaborators in the sneaker world for the last decade. The Japan OG is inspired by wedding dresses, featuring an all-white construction with a lace-like pattern for the shoe’s base layer.

One final detail unites both shoes in matrimony, with each featuring embroidery on the insides of the tongues. Sewn in with metallic silver thread, the old English rhyme “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” is mirrored on both silhouettes, and is meant to evoke good luck in marriage if you bring something from each category with you on your wedding day.

The New Balance 992 “Nimbus Cloud” Returns in 2025

New Balance’s 992 has returned to their Made in USA lineup this season, after the model was holstered for the last few years. This week, official photos of the “Nimbus Cloud” pair from several years back have surfaced, coming soon.

New Balance’s Made in USA line has seen a significant uptick in releases since the brand appointed their frequent collaborator, Teddy Santis of Aimé Leon Dore, as the line’s creative director in 2020. Since then, the two have released regular Seasonal Collections, highlighting some retro NB silhouettes through upscale materials and expertly manufactured in the USA. Each season, the two have rotated models in and out of the lineup, with 2023 bringing the 998 into the fold. Last year, Santis has teased the return of the 992, after its initial retro run that began back in 2020 and ended in 2022. Now, the model joins the MADE lineup beginning this Summer.

While we are looking forward to seeing some of the new styles in store for the 992 this year, official images that appeared this week indicate New Balance is running back a few fan-favorites from the last run. Today, the 2020 “Nimbus Cloud” style has emerged, and is expected to arrive this Spring. The look pits the shoe in a mix of white and cream suede layers for the upper, which are stacked on top of a grey mesh base. Minor hits of reflective silver adorn the N logos to complete the look.
