MM6 Maison Margiela Unveils its Salomon Spring ’25 Collab

0

Ever stumble across a collab that feels like it was made just for you? Like, one minute you’re scrolling for the next big sneaker drop, and the next, you’re staring at something that’s equal parts techy and avant-garde. That’s the vibe with the MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Spring 2025 collection, hitting shelves in April and May. If you’re a Salomon stan or a sneakerhead who loves when fashion gets a little weird, this one’s got your name written all over it. Let’s unpack why this partnership is about to shake things up.

A Match Made in High-Tech Heaven

MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon aren’t new to each other—they’ve been cooking up boundary-pushing gear together for a while. But this Spring ’25 drop? It’s like they cranked the dial to 11. Dropping in two phases—April 17 and May 8—this no-gender capsule collection blends Salomon’s mountain-ready tech with MM6’s knack for flipping everyday pieces into something radical. Think running-inspired fits that feel as at home on a trail as they do in a city streetwear lineup. Isn’t it wild how some collabs just click like that?

The lineup’s got everything from sleek apparel to futuristic kicks, all designed to layer up however you vibe. Deep black and jadeite colorways dominate, with fabrics like windbreaker nylon and seamless polyamide that feel light as air but tough as nails. It’s the kind of stuff that makes you want to move—whether you’re sprinting through a park or just strutting to the coffee shop.

Kicks That Steal the Show

Let’s talk sneakers, because that’s where this collab really flexes. Salomon’s Spectur 2 road runner steps up in two killer looks: a stealthy monochrome black and a pale sage that’s almost ghostly, like it glows in the right light. Then there’s the XT-4 Mule, reworked in cornflower blue with brown accents or a sun-bleached white-beige haze. These aren’t just shoes—they’re statements. Ever laced up a pair that made you feel like you could conquer anything? That’s the energy here.

What’s cool is how MM6 sprinkles their magic on these. The Spectur 2’s mesh tech screams Salomon’s performance roots, but MM6’s oversized proportions and quirky details—like those Xerox-style prints of ACS Pro sneakers dangling around your neck—give it that extra edge. It’s like they took a trail runner and sent it to art school. The first drop on April 17 brings the black Spectur 2 and the Ultramarine XT-4 Mule, while May 8 follows with the sage Spectur 2, white-beige XT-4 Mule, and an XT-15 Backpack to tie it all together.

Apparel That’s Anything But Basic

The clothes? Oh, they’re serving. Picture a translucent MA-1 bomber jacket in windproof ripstop, loose enough to feel chill but sharp enough to turn heads. Reflective taped seams and an MM6 x Salomon logo stamp keep it functional yet bold. Then there’s a wide, cropped short that plays with MM6’s love for oversized fits, cut from stretchy ripstop with laser-cut hems. It’s the kind of piece you’d wear ironically until you realize it’s your new favorite.

Tanks, tees, and running shorts round out the mix, crafted in this wild Body Mapped Seamless polyamide. It’s breathable, stretchy, and has a futuristic weave that feels like it’s from 2050. Some tees rock massive MM6 x Salomon logos, others have playful prints—like a punk-inspired tag pinned to the chest. You know what’s dope? You can layer these pieces to match your mood, whether you’re going full techwear or keeping it low-key. It’s like building a playlist—every choice says something about you.

Why This Collab Hits Different

Here’s the thing: Salomon’s all about pushing limits in the mountains, while MM6 loves bending fashion’s rules. Together, they’re not just making clothes and kicks—they’re crafting a vibe. This collection feels like it’s for the folks who don’t fit neatly into boxes. Runners, hypebeasts, artists—it’s for anyone who sees style as a way to stand out. Ever notice how the best collabs feel like a conversation? That’s what’s happening here.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure about the no-gender angle at first. Like, would it feel too vague? But the more I dig into it, the more it makes sense. These pieces don’t care who you are—they’re about how you wear them. That bomber jacket could slay on anyone, and those Spectur 2s? They’re begging to be styled your way. It’s freeing, in a way, like picking your own adventure.

Where to Cop and What’s Next

The first drop lands April 17, 2025, with ready-to-wear, the black Spectur 2, and the Ultramarine XT-4 Mule. Then, May 8 brings the sage Spectur 2, white-beige XT-4 Mule, and that XT-15 Backpack. You’ll find the collection on MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon’s websites, plus select MM6 and Salomon stores and multi-brand spots. Pro tip: these drops tend to move fast, so set a reminder unless you wanna be stuck refreshing an empty cart.

What’s next? If this collab’s any hint, MM6 and Salomon are just warming up. Maybe we’ll see bolder prints or even crazier silhouettes down the line. For now, I’m just hyped to see these pieces hit the streets—and the trails. Spring’s all about fresh starts, right? What better way to kick it off than with gear that’s as fearless as you are?

CLOT x adidas Gazelle “Silk” Pack Releases This Week

0

CLOT and adidas have built a strong partnership in their first year of working together. Edison Chen and his team have given us some delightful twists on classic adidas shoes, which continues soon with the “Crepe Sole” Gazelle pack.

Edison Chen’s CLOT label first announced their partnership with adidas at the end of 2023, which marked the end of a fifteen-plus year Nike relationship. Their debut release came out very soon afterwards, and debuted the upscale, dress shoe inspired versions of classic adidas sneakers that they would continue to iterate on throughout 2024. This week, a new style of the Gazelle has surfaced, following up on several releases of the iconic trainer that came out last year.

CLOT’s take on the Gazelle so far have been fun releases to keep up with. The shoe first launched last Summer with a woven and beaded construction, followed by a simpler version in late Fall with with beaded Three Stripes. This week, we have an early look at a new “Crepe Sole” pack, which borrows the sole-swapping we first saw in Ronnie Fieg’s Clarks x adidas series. Arriving in two colorways, one white jacquard and the second in dark blue with green and yellow accents, both pairs features a chunky crepe sole underfoot to replace the standard tooling.

Nike’s “Laser Orange” Air Max Craze Arrives in 2025

Nike is reviving another sneaker from the turn-of-the-century Alpha Project this year, bringing the Air Max Craze back to their catalog for the first time. This week, a fresh “Laser Orange” style has surfaced for a Summer release.

Nike’s 1999 Alpha Project has been a central focus of their retro releases in the past few years, reviving the often wild and unusual sneakers for a new day. The Air Max Sunder is one of the more recent rereleases, while the Air Presto has been a mainstay in the Nike catalog for two decades. This year, they are rolling out yet another Alpha sneaker, the slingback Air Max Craze, coming soon.

The Air Max Craze was, and is, a highly unusual sneaker from the Nike archives. Originally a performance running shoe built to be as lightweight and minimal as possible, the shoe features no proper heel section, instead opting for a strap that wrap around the rear of each shoe. This week, we have our first look at a new “Laser Orange” edition of the model, which paints the upper in the yellow-orange hue and is paired with light University Blue accents to complete the look.

NIKE AIR MAX CRAZE “LASER ORANGE” RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike’s retro of the Air Max Craze does not have an official release date yet, but pairs are expected to start dropping in April 2025. Seen here in a bright “Laser Orange” shade with light blue accents, pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $170.

Nike’s Dunk Low Gets a Textures Snakeskin Upgrade in “Sesame”

0

Nike’s Dunk releases have been plentiful over the last five years, and though they’ve stated they’ll be slowing down in the future, there is still some heat in the chamber. Check out the new snakeskin pair in “Sesame”, coming soon.

The Dunk Low hit sneaker culture like an atomic bomb back in 2020, when Nike opened the floodgates and brought the iconic shoe to the masses. The silhouette had been used sparingly in the decade prior, closely safeguarded by Nike for special occasions, like Jordan had with the AJ1. Suddenly, Dunks were available everywhere, with both classic and new colorways releasing on a weekly basis. In the last year, Nike leadership changed hands, and they have announced that models like the Dunk and AJ1 will be scaled back to protect their sanctity. However, there are still some releases on the way in 2025.

The latest new style for the Dunk Low brings a whole new snakeskin vibe to the low-top trainer. This pair’s base layer comes in a rough, textured faux-snakeskin leather, complete with a unique color gradient that shifts between shades of brown and white. This is paired with canvas overlays in a soft sesame brown shade, and textured ballistic nylon Swooshes to complete the look.

NIKE DUNK LOW SNAKESKIN “SESAME” RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike’s latest new style for their Dunk Low has not been officially announced yet, but is currently penciled in for a June 1st, 2025 release. The rough snakeskin-clad edition in a “Sesame” color scheme will be available from both Nike and select retailers for an expected $125.

Nike Revives Classic Rainbow Flyknit for a New Vapormax

Nike’s Vapormax silhouette is still around, though the model has not been updated since its 2023 version. This week, the Swoosh’s iconic “Rainbow” multicolor Flyknit textile returns on a new pair of the sleek runner.

Nike’s Vapormax technology changed the sneaker game when it debuted in 2017. The first all-Air cushioning system inspired plenty of wild new looks, being mixed and matched with a wide variety of classic Swoosh silhouettes. However, the base Vapormax has stuck around as an essential part of their catalog in the eight years since. This week, the brand has released a new pair which brings back their fan-favorite multicolor Flyknit.

The Air cushioning system from Nike has been around since 1978, when it debuted in the classic Air Tailwind model. The Vapormax evolution came almost forty years later, and debuted the first Air sole that eliminated excess rubber and foam for support. This week, the 2023 Vapormax released in a new multicolor Flyknit look reminiscent of the early, beloved 2012 era when the knit textile made its debut. Based in “Barely Volt” green, this pair features recycled threads with shades of purple, red, blue, pink, yellow, and more mixed in. The rest of the shoe comes in black to highlight the vivid colors of the upper.

NIKE AIR VAPORMAX 2023 “RAINBOW” RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike’s latest pair of their Air Vapormax 2023 landed earlier this week, on April 9th, 2025. Featuring a new rainbow Flyknit upper based in their Barely Volt green shade, pairs are still available directly from the brand’s website in a full size run, with a price tag of $210.

adidas’ BW Army Gets a Vintage “Sand Dust” Look for Spring

0

adidas has reintroduced the vintage BW Army trainer to their catalog this season, after a successful collaboration with Hartcopy last year. This week, we have an early look at a new “Sand Dust” colorway, coming soon.

The adidas BW Army originated in the 1970s, when the Three Stripes made custom, unbranded trainers for the West German army. After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of the military group, thousands of these trainers were stored in warehouses until being found and redistributed to the masses. The silhouette became a cult classic, one that has spawned an immensely popular Margiela Replica sneaker. Now, adidas is reclaiming their design, with a fresh wave of releases in Spring 2025.

adidas’ first batch of colors for their BW Army have already started to hit the market as of this month, bringing simple black & white styles in premium leather to the iconic silhouette. Now, another pair has emerged, with slightly less luxurious materials and a more approachable price tag. Seen here in a “Sand Dust” color scheme, this look sports a cracked leather base with a suede toe panel, and gum soles to complete the look.

ADIDAS BW ARMY TRAINER “SAND DUST” RELEASE INFORMATION

adidas’s new release of their classic BW Army Trainer has not been officially announced by the brand yet, but retailers like Berlin’s Overkill have already shared images of the new color. Cast in a “Sand Dust” shade with cracked leather, pairs will be available from both adidas and select retailers for just $120.

The San Diego State Aztec’s Have an Air Jordan 4 PE

Jordan Brand has a long history of special Player Edition sneakers, having originated the trend in 1994 with a range of AJ9s for NBA players. This week, we have a close-up look at a pair of the Air Jordan 4 made for the San Diego State University Aztecs.

In 1985, when the Air Jordan 1 made its debut, many of the shoe’s colors worn by Michael later saw public releases, and are still iconic forty years later. Then, in 1994, Nike and Jordan began an entirely new tradition in footwear, the player-exclusive model. They drafted custom pairs of the Air Jordan 9 which were given to six hand-picked NBA players, creating ultra-limited styles that would never see a public release. That tradition carries on to this day, particularly through schools that are sponsored by Nike and Jordan.

In recent years, Jordan Brand has expanded their roster of schools which they sponsor, providing uniforms and gear to a wide range of collegiate football, basketball, and baseball programs. Along with their performance gear, Jordan also gifts many of their athletes with special PE styles, usually crafted in school colors with special details. This week, we have a close-up look at one of these pairs, made for the San Diego State University Aztecs.

SDSU’s colors are a striking combination of black and red, though the latter is largely absent from their new Air Jordan 4 PE. Instead, the iconic silhouette takes on a black nubuck leather for the bulk of its upper, adding accents of stippled brown leather along the toe mudguards, and tongues. Metallic Gold Jumpman branding appears ont he tongues and heels, as well as a SDSU-branded lace dubrae and hangtag. Finally, a red patch on the interior tongues completes the limited-edition look.

The limited-edition Air Jordan 4 PE for the San Diego State Aztec’s will not be made available to the public. The original Spiridon model from Nike has been remastered, and is back for another retro run. Released in 1997 and an early adopter of the Swoosh’s Zoom technology, the Spiridon has become a cult classic, and is beloved by fans of Nike’s ’90s run for its sleek look and unique color blocking. After a brief series of releases in the mid-’10s, the newly revamped version is a welcome return to form, and has already released in a handful of other original colors.

This week, news of another classic Spiridon look from Nike has surfaced, unexpectedly bringing back the “Concord” style from the original ’97 run. The JJJJound x Vans Half-Cab Pack Drops in April

0

JJJJound has crafted a number of partnerships in the footwear world, teaming up regularly with a variety of brands to launch their spin on iconic sneakers. This week, they’ve teased a new project with Vans, featuring a two pack of the Half Cab.

The first foray into the world of sneakers from Montreal design brand JJJJound was with Vans, way back in 2017. Their debut release features simple but excellent styles of the Old Skool, which perfectly encapsulated their design ethos. Since then, JJJJ has gone on to work with Reebok, New Balance, and Asics to release wildly popular, minimal sneaker collaborations. This week, they’ve teased a new project with Vans, coming soon.

The last time we saw a release form JJJJound and Vans was in Summer of 2023, when they released crisp white styles of the Slip-On, Sk8-Hi, and Era. This Summer, they are taking a much darker approach to the seasonal release, which features two styles of the Half-Cab. Both pairs feature beautiful suede uppers in tonal colors, with a choice of either black or maroon. The colors are broken up by white tongues and laces, as well as a white midsole unit.

JJJJOUND X VANS HALF-CAB PACK RELEASE INFORMATION

The next release from Montreal’s JJJJound and Vans has not been announced yet, but is currently expected to release sometime in Summer 2025. Featuring two styles of the Half-Cab skate shoe, one in black and one in maroon, pairs will likely be available from both partners. Pricing is currently unknown.
