The New Balance 2000 ABZORB “Still Water” Releases June 2025

0

New year, new footwear from New Balance. This week, one of the Boston brand’s fresh styles for 2025 has surfaced, which is reportedly a total overhaul of the early-2010s, 2000 model, coming this Summer.

Boston footwear brand New Balance has spent the last few years diving back into their archives, striking gold on older silhouettes that still have a place in modern day style. Some of these projects have been true retro releases like the 475, while others update the silhouette a bit with new tooling, like the 2002R and 1906R. This week, an early look at a total overhaul of a 2010s runner has surfaced.

In the early 2010s, New Balance was still primarily a performance shoe brand, and the epitome of the “dad” shoe. One of their releases at the time was the 2000, a chunky runner made from mesh and leather. Now, it appears they’ve given the model a total overhaul, reviving it with a new look for 2025. The update constructs the shoe from a mesh base with synthetic taped overlays, a brand new cushioning system that consists of five unique cushioning pods on either side of the shoe. Seen here in a light blue and white color scheme, pairs are expected to release later this year.

NEW BALANCE 2000 RELEASE INFORMATION

New Balance has not yet announced the release of their upcoming 2000 model, but it is currently expected to release next month, on June 14th, 2025. Updating an early 2010s silhouette with an entirely new look, pairs will be available from both NB and select retailers. No pricing information is available yet.

SNS & adidas’ GT II “5th Edition” Releases Next Week

0

SneakersNStuff and adidas have a close collaborative relationship, so much so that the Swedish retailer has not one, but two signature Three Stripes models. This week, they announced their next release of the GTII, the “5th Edition”, coming soon.

The first signature shoe from longtime partners SneakersNStuff (SNS) and adidas released back in 2020. The model, known simply as the GT, was an amalgamation of years of archival shoes from adidas, under an umbrella referred to as Terrace Trainers. Terrace footwear gets its name from the relationship to UK football culture, the eponymous “terrace” being the standing section of a stadium. They are characterized by low profiles, thin rubber soles, and bright colors, usually made by adidas.

With the introduction of their GT II, SNS and adidas took it up a notch, bringing new material mixes and exciting colorways to their second collaborative model. Just last month, the two releases the shoe’s “4th Edition” colorway, and already, their “5th Edition” pair has surfaced. Releasing next week, the new style brings some brighter colors to the silhouette for Summer. This release features a leather base layer for the upper in “Almost Yellow” paired with suede overlays in a Warm Vanilla shade. The color accents appear on the stripes and heel counters in Ray Blue, with a dash of bright pink for the co-branded tongue labels.

SNS X ADIDAS GT II “5TH EDITION” RELEASE INFORMATION

The next installment in SNS and adidas’ ongoing series for their GT II trainer is scheduled to release next week, on June 19th, 2025. The new pair does not currently have a city attached to its release, but the leather and suede look in warm vanilla tones with blue and pink accents will be available exclusively through SneakersNStuff with the usual price tag of $130.

The new silhouette from adidas already has a release date, set to launch in late October 2024. The model’s squishy rubber-like material is said to adapt to your foot as it wears in, while providing a cooling breathability throughout the entire shoe, as opposed to the original Clima line which focused on specific areas. Nike’s Total 90 III Joins .SWOOSH with a “Rage Quit” Style

0

This year, Nike reintroduced the Total 90 III to their lineup, and have fleshed out the model with a wide range of colors. This season, the 90 III joins the brand’s .SWOOSH label, with a “Rage Quit” story for its debut look.

The .SWOOSH line from Nike has gone through some dramatic changes since the platform was first introduced a few years ago. Originally launched during the height of the crypto and NFT boom, .SWOOSH was the brand’s way of joining in on the digital collectible fun. This quickly transitioned into providing real, wearable sneakers to token holders, and as the digital asset empire began to crumble, Nike pivoted to a more sustainable source of inspiration: gaming.

This Summer, .SWOOSH will add a third silhouette to their arsenal of sneakers for gaming-inspired releases. The Air Force 1 and Air Max 1 have both seen their fair share of drops, and they’ve enlisted the Total 90 III for a refresh. The silhouette was introduced as a soccer shoe in 2004, and has since been repurposed for everyday wear. The debut “Rage Quit” look from .SWOOSH colors the shoe in black with a bright Apple Green panel on the medial walls. The insoles feature an error message graphic with the phrase “Your opponent has forfeited the match.” to complete the look.

Stone Island x New Balance Numeric 272 “Marina” Coming Soon

0

Stone Island and New Balance have unveiled a new project this week, switching lanes from their typical running or lifestyle shoes to skateboarding. The “Marina” edition of the Numeric 272 arrives in Summer 2025.

Stone Island first teamed up with New Balance back in 2022, and have continued to release regular projects in the years since. Their first foray into the Boston brand’s archives was a contemporary running shoe, the RC Elite V2, before releasing their first lifestyle model, the 574, during that shoe’s thirty-fifth anniversary celebration. They dipped into performance models one more time in 2023 with the FuelCell C_1, before a string of classic NB models like more 574s, the 991v2, and the 998. Now, they are back in 2025 with another performance model, this time for skateboarding.

New Balance’s Numeric division, their skate team, has been on the rise over the last few years. Their most recent success is Andrew Reynolds’ signature model, the 933, which is derived from their classic 993. Now, Stone Island is joining in on the fun, crafting their take on the slim 272 model. Dubbed “Marina”, the SI version is akin to all-white boat shoes you’d find close to water, mixing cream and white shades across a suede and leather upper. The co-branding elements on the back come in a rich blue shade for a pop of color, and come packaged in a yellow dry bag for all conditions.

STONE ISLAND X NEW BALANCE NUMERIC 272 “MARINA” RELEASE INFORMATION

The next project from Stone Island and New Balance has not been announced officially yet, but will likely release sometime in Summer 2025. Diving into the world of skate shoes with the Numeric 272 “Marina” the crisp white and off-white style will be available from both partners as well as select retailers. Pricing information is currently unknown.

Fear of God’s adidas Basketball II “Lemonade” Coming Summer 2025

Fear of God and adidas just released their latest pairs of the Basketball II, and already a new look has surfaced. This time, the performance model is getting a pale yellow “Lemonade” shade, coming this Summer.

Fear of God Athletics’ line with adidas is fleshing out this year with a wide range of new colors for their flagship model, the Basketball II. The silhouette is the star of the line, which also includes a trainer model, several lifestyle shoes, and a range of athletic apparel. Jerry Lorenzo, the founder and creative behind FoG, has had a long-publicized relationship with the NBA and individual players, who have recently been sporting these new styles ahead of their release.

The latest batch of colors from FoG and adidas are almost wrapped up, with the “Ash Pearl” drop last week marking 2/3 styles from the All-Star preview event now available. However, another new pair of the model’s low-top version has surfaced this week, dressed in a pale “Lemonade” shade of yellow. The look is less tonal than previous releases, which matched the shoe’s mesh underlay to the outer layers. Instead, the yellow pair features a grey base layer, which is visible as the signature Three Stripes on the outside of the shoe.

FEAR OF GOD ATHLETICS X ADIDAS BASKETBALL II “LEMONADE” RELEASE INFORMATION

The next colorway of Fear of God Athletics’ adidas Basketball II sneaker has not been scheduled for release yet, but is expected in Summer 2025. Dressed in a “Lemonade” pale yellow shade with a grey accent, both the low and high-top styles will be available through both partners, with the usual prices of $180 and $200, respectively.

First Look at the Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “UNC”

After the release of the iconic “Bred” Air Jordan 1 High in the ’85 cut this year, we have been waiting for the next colorway of the remastered model to surface. This week, Hiroshi Fujiwara finally gave us that reveal, sporting a pair in a “UNC” color scheme.

Jordan Brand’s remastered version of the Air Jordan 1 High has been one of the most sought-after silhouettes of the last few years. Dubbed the ’85 edition, the style constructs the shoe as closely as possible to the original 1985 release, featuring a higher cut collar, altered padding, and a refined shape. The shoe has released in only a handful of colors so far, almost entirely in OG releases with a few special pairs like the “Georgetown” thrown in.

This week, another original style of the AJ1 has surfaced in the ’85 format, shown off by the godfather of streetwear himself, Hiroshi Fujiwara. In the photo, Fujiwara is seen wearing a “UNC” pair of the Air Jordan 1, but not the Reimagined edition that released early this year. Zooming into the photo shows it is distinctly the ’85 version, in a colorway we have not seen or heard of until now. There is currently no information regarding the shoe’s release, so this could be a limited-edition pair for friends & family, but hopefully they release to the public soon.

AIR JORDAN 1 HIGH ’85 “UNC” RELEASE INFORMATION

There is currently no information regarding the public release of Jordan Brand’s “UNC” edition Air Jordan 1 High ’85. The new colorway would likely release sometime in 2026, though no leaks have indicated this yet. Regardless, pairs currently exist and are in the hands of the brand’s most trusted partners like Fujiwara. We expect this style to carry the same $250 price tag as the “Bred” release from earlier this year.

Salehe’s “Realtree” Crocs Pollex Finally Drops in June

Salehe Bembury’s Crocs Pollex Clog hit the sneaker world like a ton of bricks when it was first unveiled in 2021. This week, the shoe’s friends & family “Realtree” camo pair is finally getting a public release, years after its first unveiling.

Salehe Bembury’s sneaker collaborations have become some of the most sought-after shoes on the market over the last few years. His projects with New Balance and Crocs are the most frequent releases, and still regularly sell out years after their initial drops. The Pollex Clog from Crocs was one of the hardest shoes to get back in 2021 when they first released, but stock numbers have increased quite a bit since then. One of the more difficult pairs to acquire was the “Realtree” camo edition, a pair created just for Bembury’s friends & family, but after years of requests, they are finally being made available to the public.

The camouflage patterned Pollex Clog was initially teased by Salehe three years ago now, and specifically cited as a friends & family exclusive style. Fans of his shoes have been badgering him ever since about getting their hands on a pair, and this month, Salehe & Crocs announced the shoe’s public release, coming early in June. This pair follows in the footsteps of a Juniper pair featuring the same pattern, but the pattern covers the entire clog for this special release.

The special-edition pair, formerly a friends & family only release, will be available through the designer’s Spunge website with the usual price tag of $85. Crocs will follow up with a wider release on June 12th, 2025.
