The Off-White x Nike “The Ten” collection debuted almost every silhouette from the project in November. However, the Converse 70s Hi bearing Virgil’s signature styling was nowhere to be found. Now, it’s finally set to release next month.

The Off-White x Converse sneaker is easily one of the most interesting silhouettes from Virgil Abloh’s collaboration with Nike. The shoe was redesigned like never before, retaining the same classic shape and styling of the shoe while exposing all of the interior components, including the foot inside. This wild Converse uses a translucent material for the upper, similar to that of the Air Max 97 from the same collection. However, with Converse, the usual canvas upper is constructed from a single layer. This means that when the canvas is translated to the translucent, plastic-like material, the single layer build makes the translucent layer incredibly easy to see through. In addition, the midsole and outsole on this pair are also built from a similar translucent rubber. This allows the shoe to expose every inch of itself to the world. Thanks to the leak account Py_Rates, we now have a release date for the highly anticipated last-member of Virgil Abloh’s “The Ten” collection. The issues surrounding production and release have finally been resolved, and it looks like the Off-White x Converse 70s Hi drops sometime in early May.
