Today new images surfaced of Virgil Abloh’s take on the iconic Bapesta. Check out our first look at the Off-White x BAPE Bapesta.
Although we know Virgil for this Off-White x Nike silhouettes and now even his Louis Vuitton trainers, nostalgic vibes are felt as a collaboration between him and BAPE look to be unfolding. Go back a few years ago when Kanye was releasing College Dropout, and Off-WHite wasn’t a thing just yet, BAPE was the brand to have. Especially their Bapesta sneaker that looked very reminiscent of the Air Force 1. Although hype has diminished for the silhouette, many still recognize the shoe for its cultural impact.
Recently leaked by Virgil himself back in January, it appears he will be adding an Off-White vibe to the Bapesta and as a new image has just leaked, that could mean the collaboration is heating up to be released very soon. The upper looks to take on a black snakeskin inspired design while a white Bapesta logo graces the midfoot. Off-White stencil work can then be seen on the medial midfoot.

Although we have no timetable for a release since this image surfaces, we could be seeing the drop go down before the year ends. Whenever these do drop though, expect a frenzy as everyone will be trying to get a pair. UPDATE: Yankeekicks has gotten his hands on a pair and gave us a great on-foot look at the hopefully upcoming Off-White x Bape Bapesta. Also notable, even Yankeekicks isn’t sure whether or not these will release so just because we have an on-foot look, it doesn’t mean to get too confident that a release is happening.
