The Nike Forum during New York Fashion week has been the talk of the sneaker world this week, thanks to an outstanding show of new footwear and apparel. Amongst the sneakers was the new Vapormax 2020, shown as part of the Olympic collection.

The inaugural Nike Future Forum went down last week, taking over New York Fashion Week to show off plenty of upcoming projects from the Swoosh, including new Off-White and Matthew M. Williams collections and the upcoming Olympic gear. The uniforms for American athletes for this year’s Tokyo Games had plenty to brag about, namely the colorful designs wrapping around from Piet Parra, and the brand new Vapormax 2020. Shown off in two Olympic-themed colorways, the next iteration of Nike’s futuristic silhouette is the most advanced yet. The look begins with the trademark Flyknit upper, this time constructed from recycled polyester fabrics using a variety of bright colors. The newly streamlined heel counter is made from the amalgamation of Nike foams and Grind Rubber for solid support, while the lacing system has been upgraded to FlyEase for widespread accessibility. Finally, the Vapormax sole unit appears to have slimmed down, with more rounded edges and less height.

Nike’s 2020 iteration of their famous Vapormax silhouette with FlyEase technology has not yet been scheduled for release, though we expect them to launch sometime in Summer. The Olympic-themed colorways shown during the Forum event in New York will likely release later, closer to the Summer Olympic Games.
