Halloween will be here any day now and Nike looks to get us ready with three silhouettes that highlight their “Day of the Dead” Pack.

We just recently took a look at the Air Force 1 and the Cortez but the Air Max 95 came out of nowhere with a spooky rendition. The handful of silhouettes all are dedicated to Dia de Los Muertos, Spanish for “Day of the Dead”. A Mexican holiday that has gathered a lot of attention in the last couple of years has grown into a festival that echoes around the world. Who couldn’t love a celebration of family, tradition and the natural life cycle? Nw as the celebration will go on from October 31st-November 2nd, Nike readies their fans with multiple choices of themed editions that have a lot of meaning behind them.

The Air Force 1 is dedicated to Calaca, or a sugar skull. Throughout the silhouette, 3M sugar skulls can be seen throughout while bright colors allow the traditional offerings to come to life. The Air Max 95 “La Catrina”, or a female skeleton figure has been a staple for the Holiday and represents a happy afterlife. The iteration showcases the shoe becoming one with La Catrina, in which the laces take the form of the ribs, the sole represents the spine all while the uppers mesh and suede imitate the muscle fibers. Last but not least is the Cortez “El Altar”. Typically every ofrenda, or alter incorporated the four natural elements, water, air, earth, and fire. While the Cortez honors this very special tradition, confetti is added in to represent air, candles signify fire in which leads direction, a ceramic that holds food represents Earth and details that signify water are added in as well. As you can see Nike took their time on each shoe and put together an overall very nice pack.

The Nike “Day of the Dead” pack is expected to release on October 25th, 2019 in Mexico and the US at select retailers and Nike.com. Check out the pack below for a better look at this timeless collection. Stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more details and updates.
