The Nike Cortez is stepping out in a special new colorway this month, celebrating the Mexican holiday of Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead. Check out the sleek new look, dropping towards the end of October.

After a widely successful thirty-fifth anniversary back in 2017, the Nike Cortez has stayed relatively low key for the past two years. One of Nike’s original running sneakers, the vintage style has remained a staple of the sneaker community for decades, most commonly associated with Latin-American culture in Southern California. Now, the latest release of the Cortez caters to that exact audience with a new “Day of the Dead” colorway. Dressed in black suede uppers, the new Dia de los Muertos adds large white Swooshes to either side, lined with an eye-catching orange tone, which is also seen throughout the stitching and detailing. The lacing system features two gold lace locks at the bottom, while a Day of the Dead-inspired graphic lines the insole.
