Nike’s annual N7 project is gearing up to release this Spring, marking thirteen years since the inception of the community-based project. This week, the Air Max 95 joins the project with some interesting new elements.

The Nike N7 program is much more than annual sneaker releases. While these annual projects are wonderful versions of classic Nike product, recreated to feature the art styles and materials of Native American and Indigenous communities around the country, the main piece of the puzzle is the N7 Fund. Created by Nike in 2009, the N7 Fund aims to uplift and empower youth in these communities through grants, enabling opportunities to lead healthier, happier, and more successful lives. However, the shoes are also a large part of the project, funding the grants given out by Nike. With some of this year’s project already available (the woven AF1 and N7 Free Trainer), the Air Max 95 has surfaced as a surprise addition this week. Likely constructed from recycled materials, this pair makes some subtle changes to the AM95’s upper, in the form of a sand and red dye pattern, as well as vivid colored stripes extending from the lacing system.
