The Air Max 95 is not going away anytime soon. Despite the all-encompassing anniversary celebration of the last 18 months, Nike still has some juice, like the colorful Macaw Pack coming in 2027.
Nike has been celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of their Air Max 95 for the past year and a half. These eighteen months have been filled with hundreds of releases for the retro runner, spanning OG colorways, new takes on classics, retros, and plenty of fresh styles, with a hefty dose of collaborations mixed in. The celebration has lasted far longer than the actual anniversary year, and with AM95 fatigue likely to set in soon, Nike is preparing to move on to another anniversary, the 97’s thirtieth in 2027, recently showing off a new laceless version for next year. However, there is still some gas left in the AM95’s tank.
This week brings us an early look at a new duo of Air Max 95 colorways, drawing inspiration from the natural world for the Macaw pack. The two colorways take their palettes from the Scarlet Macaw and Great Green Macaw, both indigenous residents of South American tropical forests. The Great Green pair features the 95’s standard construction, coloring the model’s layered upper in shades of green and blue, with thick, fuzzy laces to match. The Scarlet pair tries something new for retro Air Max silhouette, swapping out the usual suede or leather for a single piece of knit textile. The material is woven with a pattern somewhat akin to a Coogi sweater, with shades of red, blue, yellow, and green all blending seamlessly together to mimic the 95’s layered look. This is paired with black for the tongues and midsoles, and colorful webbing loops for the lacing system.

Nike’s colorful new pairs of the Air Max 95 have not been announced yet, and are not expected to release until Spring 2027. The Macaw Pack takes inspiration from two of the most colorful parrots in the animal kingdom, the Great Green and Scarlet macaws. The former uses a traditional AM95 construction while the latter uses a knit build to blend its colors. Pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $200.
