Nike is gearing up to introduce the ‘Timeless’ collection, which applies the signature look of one shoe to another. Today, the Air Max 1 has surfaced with new additions courtesy of the OG Air Force 1 High.
The ‘Timeless’ collection from Nike takes an idea they’ve played with before to a whole new level. Back in 2020, we saw two releases of a dual Air Max 1 & Air Huarache pack, which swapped the two model’s original color schemes in an homage to the brand’s running roots. The Timeless series takes this a step further, applying details from one iconic shoe to another, so far featuring the Zoom Vomero 5 and Air Force 1 Low. Now, the Air Max 1 has joined the project, taking on elements of the 1982 Air Force 1 High.
Seen here in its original grey and white makeup, the new Air Max 1 pulls directly from this look, featuring a white leather upper with mesh underlays, and hints of grey for the Swooshes and upper eyelets. The look also adds the AF1’s toe box perforation pattern for more breathability in the leather look, as well as adding the nylon webbing strap over the midfoot of the shoe. The heel branding has been swapped for the classic Nike Air look, while an aged yellow midsole completes the look.
NIKE AIR MAX 1 ‘TIMELESS’ RELEASE INFORMATION
Nike’s latest addition to the upcoming ‘Timeless’ collection has not been announced for release, though they are expected to launch sometime in Spring 2023. Giving the Air Max 1 a makeover inspired by the OG Air Force 1 High, pairs will likely be available via the SNKRS app and select retailers, with an estimated price tag of $160.
