The beloved Nike Air Max 1 has seen a string of both retro and new releases over the last year, and this week, a new version of the silhouette in Slide form has surfaced, coming soon.
Nike’s penchant for turning some of their most treasured silhouettes into slides strikes again this season. Most recently, the Air More Uptempo basketball shoe got the slip-on treatment, and this week, we got an early look at a new entry from the Air Max family, following up on the 2020 release of the AM90 Slide. This time, the original Air Max 1 gets the makeover, removing most of the upper and leaving the signature sole unit with visible Air technology in the heels as well as a mesh and suede band wrapping over the toes. The AM1’s panelling remains somewhat intact for this release, which will come in Sport Red and Black/White colorways.
NIKE AIR MAX 1 SLIDE RELEASE INFORMATION
Nike’s new Slider version of the Air Max 1 has not been announce for release, though they are expected to drop sometime as early as March 2023. Coming in Sport Red and Black/White color schemes, the simplified Air Max silhouette will be available via Nike’s own website as well as select retailers.
