Nike’s Air Max 1 releases continue to line up throughout 2023, fleshing out the shoe’s anniversary celebration for another year. This week, a new ‘Michigan’ premium style surfaced, coming soon.
Nike’s Air Max 1 is no stranger to an upscale release, with plenty of Premium colorways available over the years. Sometimes this means just a pure leather construction, but for the upcoming ‘Michigan’ version, the Swoosh has gone all in on the materials used. The pair begins with a navy blue leather base layer, as well as a matching quarter panel. Reptile leather overlays are added in a bright ‘Varsity Maize’ shade, while snakeskin Swooshes add another element to the material choices. The final detail is a navy blue mini Swoosh embroidered on the toes to complete the look.

Nike’s next colorway of the Premium iteration of the Air Max 1 has not been announced for release, though they are expected to launch sometime in Spring 2023. Dressed in high quality leathers and cast in a ‘Michigan’ palette, pairs will likely be available via the SNKRS app and select retailers, with an estimated price tag of at least $160. UPDATE 6/7/23: After the leaked date back in April, Nike has officially set their upcoming navy and yellow colorway of the Air Max 1 to release on June 21st, 2023. The shoe mashes up the top 8 winners of their CO.JP Tournament from last year, which explains the mixed material upper. Pairs will be available through the SNKRS app for $160.
UPDATE 3/19/23: Nike’s CO.JP ‘Michigan’ colorway of the Air Max 1 has been given a tentative release date of April 14th, 2023. Though yet to be confirmed by Nike, the premium women’s color scheme will be available worldwide with a price tag of $160
