During their SNKRS Showcase preview event last Fall, Nike showed off a retro of the ACG Rufus, a slip-on mule originally released in 2001. Now, we have an early look at a “Sequoia” style, coming in Fall 2024.
The Nike ACG archives are chock-full of excellent all-terrain styles from the past few decades. In recent years, after the departure of Errolson Hugh as the label’s creative director, ACG has turned to the archives for most of their inspiration looking forward. This includes retro release of plenty of their older models, most recently reintroducing the Air Exploraid to their catalog. Additionally, the Rufus slip-on from 2001 is set to return this year, offering a simple silhouette with chunky midsoles built for trails. This week, a pair in “Sequoia” green has emerged, slated for a release later this year. The suede upper is cast in the dark green tone, adding black trim and a sandy midsole to complete the look.
