Nice Kicks and Asics have crafted another ice-cream-inspired edition of the GEL-Lyte III this year, this time paying homage to the Japanese brand’s home country with a ‘Black Sesame’ edition, releasing tomorrow.
Nice Kicks has worked with a stable of collaborators over the years, bringing their ideas to life through unique colorways. Some of their most frequent releases come from Japanese running brand Asics, using their classic models to bring stories to life, like last year’s release of the GEL-Lyte III ‘Nice Cream’, an ice cream-inspired look with high quality materials. Now, the two are following up on that project with a new flavor, this time paying homage to Asics’ Japanese roots with a ‘Black Sesame’ theme. This pair mixes a grey suede toe box with shaggy anthracite black suedes for a textured look, adding in unique patterns to the collar along with bold lime green accents for a striking new look.

The latest project from Nice Kicks and Asics has been scheduled to release tomorrow, September 29th, 2022. The ultra-detailed ‘Black Sesame’ color scheme of the classic GEL-Lyte III runner will debut first from all Nice Kicks locations as well as their website for $140, with a wider release expected to follow in the coming weeks.
