The New Balance 99x series has received a lot of love from fans in the past few years, and the Boston brand is serving up more than we can handle through new colorways and collaborations. This week, the Boston brand revealed a new “Tan Brown” 998.

While the New Balance 998 doesn’t always receive the same love as some other members of the 99x series, it is still a champion among other vintage runners. Originally released in 1993, the New Balance 998 builds on the legacy of previous 99x silhouettes, constructed from the standard mesh with suede overlays, as well as featuring ABZORB cushioning underfoot in the non-marking midsole. This week, New Balance refreshed the silhouette with a new monotone “Tan Brown” look. This 998 is dressed from heel to toe in a subtle brown tone, which takes differently to each layer of varying material. The New Balance “N” logo stands out in a lighter shade, while the stiff plastic TPU sections are lighter in tone.
