New Balance’s aggressive new XC-72 silhouette is slowly starting its rollout in standard-issue colorways this month, including a handful of fresh styles dropping this week. Check out the “Castlerock” look, dropping tomorrow.

The New Balance XC-72 is all about looking to the past to inspire the future. With a design based on conceptual automobile technology from the 1970s, the brand new silhouette is one of the Boston brand’s wildest lifestyle models to date, and we’ve barely gotten a chance to check them out so far. This week, the XC-72 is scheduled to release in a new tonal grey “Castlerock” color scheme, in stark contrast to the previous colorful releases that have dropped recently. For the new look, the XC-72 begins with a metallic silver leather base layer, before adding supportive suede overlays in various shades of grey. The black midsole pairs well with the oversized black ‘N’ logo on the lateral sides, while a cream white tongue and heel clip complete the new look.
